That said the map lights and vanity mirror lights are not time delayed, they should be operated via the switch. Hopefully they'll get it sorted.

But they are, in fact, time delayed...they will turn off after some period of time, just not after a few seconds or a minute...

Thanks for the prompt to update the thread gb99165, I forgot about it.
My boot light problem was resolved, I was told that a Light Control Module needed to be changed. I'm not sure if this is because of an incompatibility with the new TCU or a change to the IDrive software.
The car is now on 30. something, I've got it noted somewhere I think, but to be honest I'm loosing interest in the car and it's bugs... I was expecting owning a brand new BMW to stick in my mind for reasons other than taking it back to the dealers 6 times in the first year.
Anyway, I hope that this helps you resolve your issue too, at least you can share the info with your dealer to see if it helps.

I think the E60/E61 will be remembered for it's software glitches and I do hope the sorted the most of the stuff on the F10/F11. But I won't be the first one buying that model for sure.
