Yep I got them on my car and I love them. There super soft and the ride is pretty good for 19s. Alot better than pirelli in my opinon. Pirelli is a bit overrated, if i were to choose another tire it would be Michelin Pilot Sports....

I have been considering these too as am a little fed up with the ride on the run flats. The tyres on my sport model are 245.40.18 with a load index of 93 but toyo's load index is only 90 so not sure if they are suitable. What is load index anyway - okay i know i could google it but isnt this the point of these forums lol
I'm also concidering Avon ZZ3 though reviews are mixed.
May wait a little lonnger and go with GY GSD3 F1 but funny thing is i dont like the look of the tread on that tyre - dont ask my why? just dont

I've been trying to get some advice on the best tyre set up for the e60 (non run-flat)

At the moment I've got p-zero neros on the front and continental 'slicks' with aquaplane channels on the back.

If anyone our there understands tyres I'd really appreciate some advice as to what works best (and if it really matters).

What IS a load index ?

What IS a speed rating all about ?

Should I care?

If your looking at ZR rated tires and they are top brans then you shoulndt worry about load index too much. Mainly your comapring ride quality and performance and from my personal experience I found Michelin Pilot sport XGT was the best all around tire, Toyo was the most softest tread with a good ride, and Nitto was a perfect balance.

Had Pirelli before and that ride was too rough. I hear alot of good things about those SO3 Pole Position tires

Go for the Toyo T1+R the load index is 97Y RF not 90,The Toyo`s are the best i have them on my E60 535D i also had them on my previous cars an M3 & E39,To be honest with you i sell Tyres so i have the pick of whatever tyres i want.I always go for Toyo. Regarding the load & speed index have a look at Toyo`s website www.toyo.co.uk go to technical then the writings on the wall and this will explain Load index.

I've run T1-S on another car. They felt very good and are well thought of.

I was surprised to see though, that in Car and Driver's latest tire test, the Proxes T1-R was in 8th place. The test was conducted on an E90. The absolute best tire was the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. Link is here:

The Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 was the fastest on the road course and had the best braking, and was usable in the wet. It's the OEM tire on the Elise, and that thing grips like crazy. They don't have it in the size my car takes, but it might be available for other 5 Series setups.
