Seems to depend upon market. None in my 2004 UK model but were in other markets
Been covered before so try a search on torch under this and E60 areas
Good luck
PS I bought some cheap wind up LED torches, and keep in glovebox, home toolbox and boat. They are great as never have a flat battery

thanks for the reply,when i traded my e90 in i 'forgot' to leave the torch in,now in the glovebox there looks like a place for a torch but i cant see the connectors do they slide open when the torch is seated?

My new 06 didn't have one either so I complained to BMW. They said it was better not to charge everyone and include it as some customers didn't want it.
My local friendly parts man gave me one, a small perk of buying from the local dealer
