Penny Pinching BMW
Our cars are highly specified as standard, and can be loaded with options. So, why does BMW no longer fit the glovebox torch?
For those not in the know, the RHS of the glovebox 'rim' contains a socket that can 'park' a rechargeable torch. My first E46 had one, the 2nd didnt - thought this was an oversight, so took the torch out of the other car before it went off lease.......
however, talking to my dealer, it seems that (in the UK at least) BMW no longer fit the torch - you have to buy it for ?20 - or get one on ebay for ?7 like i did.
On my car, you get things like 'hill holder' blah de blah, a socket for a torch, but no torch.
cheapscate or what?
Did you get a torch in your car?
(For USA people - torch = flashlight - not a big flaming stick ala indiana jones)
cheers
steve

We Yanks get the torch included -- at least it was on my car.
I think it's one of those country specific things that they nickel and dime you on...

I had to buy one from ebay too for my 2006 520d SE, UK spec. I think it is really mean of BMW to skimp on such a cheap item and ask a customer to buy it seperately on a car of this price.
