Hi All,
i'm wondering what is usual tire preasure you are putting for your drive. Since i've checked it yesterday and got it to 2.7 on front wheels and 3.0 on back wheels and it seems to be a bit too much. But these are mid numbers according to BMW sticker... Steering seems to be fine but, probably, it should be lower?
Any ideas on the subject?

In normal driving I use 39 psi all around. That setting removes much of the excess (IMHO) understeer. On a long highway trip, with lots of luggage, I will bump that up by 4 psi - again all around.

Sorry to use the old English measure, we are slow over here.

Did I tell you about the time the cop stopped me for doing 600 FPH (furlongs per hour) in as 440 zone. He said that I was going too fast for a 296 stone car with a 28.4 hand wheelbase!

Cheers!

I have more or less the same; about 2.7 in the front and 3.1 in the back. Works fine, and I can see no issues of strange tear on the tyres after 40.000 kms.

ok, same for me... the point is that it was 2.6 all around (set by tyre garage when i switch to summer) and now it seems that it was softer
Steering is nice and sharp - but it feels like "impresa" now

I have the BMW recommended PSI that is inside the driver door jam. I beleive it is 34 PSI front and 39 rear. When I first purchased the car CPO, I had the same PSI all around 35 PSI, I think. I also was experiencing the cross wind problem that others on this forum has struggled with. After spending alot of time with my dealer checking the tires, alignment etc., I (not the dealer) checked the PSI and followed the recommendation and teh problem was cured.

Cheers,

Tom
