So I saw my E61 rolling off into the sunrise with its new owner last Friday morning

It was an awesome and extremely reliable car, and had it been possible to move the mods to a newer one without modding the mods (LOL) I would probably have gone the 535d way. Now however I did not feel like starting all over again looking for mirrors, bumpers etc so I just sold most of it with the car.

I still have my M5 front brakes, a 3-spoke steering wheel (NOT the M5 one), 2x SE mirrors and a dog guard left though so check the classifieds if you're interested in any of those.

Anyway I just wanted to thank you all for awesome advice on maintenance and great suggestions on how to burn off any free cash on mods I'll continue lurking on the forum though so I guess I'll keep seeing you all around.

Cheers
Mattias

So you sold it afterall
We PM'ed about it, so I understand why. Shame to see such a great car go, even if it did rub a little when we pushed it on the twisty roads It was also tough for me to trade in my E61 at the beginning of the year.
So what's next? Are you going for the A8 Quattro?
Hopefully you'll still be checking in here and catching up with us at the next meet

To give your E61 a bit of a send off, as well as mine, here are some pics of our E61s at the Scandinavia meet... gone but not forgotten...

Aaawww...brings back memories from the good 'ol days. I can almost smell those butchered tyres

Yeah I hope I'll be able to join in on some future meet. Looks like there's a lot of modding and new cars here now so it would def be interesting to see the progress and get inspiration.

I got myself an A8 4.2TDi today, will take delivery tomorrow or Wed, so it will be a good step up in terms of performance and luxury but I guess it's also going to be a complete pig on the road

Best of luck with the A8, one of my favorite cars to be honest!

Tjäna!

Sorry to hear that you sold the E61, but your A8 will be an interesting ride for sure.

Send me a PM and let me know about the brakes (condition, parts included, price) and I will get back to you.

Thanks for all replies! Posting the link to the classifieds so you can see pics and other info

Classifieds

Spartan: the steering wheel is for pre 2005/09 so it won't fit your ride ithout modding.

Patrick: Check the link. Used discs w small edge, plenty left tho. Calipers like new. Pads (OEM spec) brand new in box. I can send more photos later in the week if you're still interested.

If someone want any of the parts but not is able to pick them up until later I have no problem sitting on them for a while as long as I get paid.

Congrats!

A8 4.2TDi = V8 diesel = torque monster!!! That should make for very comfortable cruising, which is obviously important for your commute. Please post up some comparissons between the two.

Can't wait to see the A8

Too bad you got rid of the 5er, but hey, change is always good. And what can be wrong about the A8?! I'm sure even the handling is pretty good

Congrats and enjoy! All the best!
