Hi all,

I recently got my new (old) E61 523i touring -05, and I have to say that it must be the ideal family car Excellent handling, very quiet, nice engine (even though it's only 177bhp) etc.
That said, I have a couple of questions (three actually )

1. When releasing the clutch, or when changing from first to second gear, I can hear a "clunk" from underneath the car. It is barely audible, but I can hear it when the radio is turned off. I can't feel anything in the car. Is this normal, or is it possible that something is worn out? Someone also told me that the flywheel may be causing the "clunk noise".

2. When driving over "sharp" bumps, the car feels very hard, and there is quite some noise from the suspension. The noise can be best described as "hollow". Is this normal?

3. At approximately 1600-1700 rpm, the engine hesitates for some tenths of a second when accelerating. The hesitation is only noticeable when the car is moving and the accelerator is pressed when IN the 1600-1700 rpm area. Other than this, the engine feels silky smooth.

The car is running on new Michelin X-Ice XI2 snow tires, and has just over 29.000 miles on the clock (guaranteed by BMW Niederlassung Munchen, Germany), but one can never be 100% certain that it's correct, or what?

Thank you very much for all replies
