I just purchased my first BMW. A 2005 535D E61 body.

This was a car that was taken back from the bank from the first ownder due to that he had not payed his loan on the car. So the fact is that the car had ben standing still for about 8 month and not moved or started.... (Yes, I got a really good price, thats why the purchase... :-)

I had a tons of error codes that BMW service read and cleared and most of them was due to battery failure. I charged the battery for a coupple of days but still the mornng after it gave "high drainage" message. I purchased a new battery and everything is now sorted exept.....

I still have a PDC failure error code and this is very unstable. Sometimes the PDC works perfectly with sound and screen display. But most of the times it gives a failure. I had 2 stored error codes about 2 sensors in the back bumper. I can ofcourse change them to new ones but I still think its strange that it works sometimes? Do anyone have some suggestions and tips on what to doubblecheck before ordering 2 new sensors?

I think you will find that the sensors are "faulty" I have 1 that is on its way out!

The majority of time it works fine, but after heavy rain, a heavy frost or if they are really dirty, the PDC gives the error message "PDC error". I have purchased a spare which I will replace sometime when I can be bothered!

I don't think pdc is faulty after heavy rain or frost. If I recall correctly this can be considered normal behaviour for PDC systems. (isn't this also mentioned in manual?).
