Hi folks , have any of you experienced a really loud squeak coming from the rear suspension ?
mine appears to come from the passenger side rear. The self levelling pump has been replaced a while back and two weeks ago the dealer greased the balljoints but the squeak is back with avengence

I have a '06 530 x with M pkg and it squaks when I go over a speed bump. I had it in the dealership 2 wks ago and they told me that they couldn''t hear the squak. They want me to come back and take the service technician out on a road trip to try to duplicate the noise.

Hi, mine does it too.. when going over speed bumps, when you enter the back, when you load the trunk etc... it's a rubber part that holds a "stick" between the wheels suspension. It's on the left and on the right side. Mine is squeaking terribly from the passenger side. Only at a certain humidity / temperature.
Horrible noise, it scares small kids along the way. The whole suspension has to be removed in order to CLEAN the RUBBER part - that's the whole trick. It takes several hours to do this. I got 2005 535d sedan w/60.000 miles / 100.000 Km.

Hondik any problems besides that?
I have never seen a 535d with 100.000km?s!
I have never seen a 535d with 100.000km?s!
1] Active Steering faults (several times for no reason, always allowed me to complete the journey and disappeared after restart)
2] Both turbos had to be replaced (on warranty) few thousand Km ago
3] Driver and passenger windows acting funny when closing - rolling up and down a bit then up and down the whole way. Needs repetition Very funny.
4] I think I felt revs dropping from 1800~2000 rpm when cruising yesterday. I may just be paranoid and need a new car
5] Idrive dies from time to time Nothing serious, just a blank screen and reboot once a month.
6] Steptronic feels kinda slow... occasional reset helps.
The conclusion is - it doesn't feel as good as 530ix LCI (ride quality, updated Active steering, new comfort seats, engine & throttle response and many other minor details) I tested few days ago and I'm getting a different engine in my new car too. 530d or 530i because it is 100 Kg lighter and you definitely feel the difference. Most of my driving is in the city (everyday) and once a month a take a long trip (approx. 2000Km). Also the consumption - 12l isn't very good. And also ...I decided I'm getting Touring I can't wait!!!
