As I was happily washing my car yesterday evening after seeing it again after two weeks of using loaners, I discovered a large rip in the front right tyre. It took me awhile until I realised that someone actually had made it with a knife in order to cause an accident.
First I was just chocked, but today, ordering a new tyre for 360 Euros... well, if I see that guy...

Dang ... that is really bad. Good thing you spotted it though, before it really caused harm to your and your loved ones.
I can never understand people who willfully destroy or damage the property of others - they seem to be all over the place.

Don't you think it can be a damage made by the tow truck? It doesn't look like it's made by knife to me.

Think you should have a talk to the dealer. It?s possible they or the tow truck made the damage.
Tuff luck Narvselius. Don?t you ever get any quality-time, just you and the bimmer

Gentlemen, there was no tow truck as I managed to "jump" to the dealer myself. I have discussed it with the dealer in Malm? but they say they have procedures for this (service guys reports and get no salary reduction). Also, F?renade Bil uses the new "user friendly" car lifts where there are no sharp edges.

I don't think this was caused by a knife. It was caused by hitting a kerb or similar at speed.
I have the 172's also and this has happened to my tyres on several occasions when a certain person has kerbed the alloys. The tyres on the 172's "stick" out a little from the alloy and this "rip" is caused by the kerb.

Sorry to see that but a knife would never scratch the rim in such way. Most probably has been done by hitting a sidewalk or a low wall. I scratched the 19" rims on mine as well just by parking to close to the pavement.
The rim you can fix by buying stick paint 5191 0 395 248 Dekorsilber (A55). At list this is the colour of 166 rims. For the 172 might be Relfexsilber but this you oughta ask your dealer.
