We're looking for rims and snow tires for a new-to-us '06 wagon. Would appreciate it if you know what models of bmw's have rims that fit.

Thanks in advance,
DaveL

Hi DaveL, You can find all original rims here (It?s in German but choose ?e60?, Click on the pictures. Xdrive rims are called ?Allrad? (ET43)): http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/
In size 17? it?s only 5 rims that will fit: Style 122, style 138, style 243, style 277 and style 278. I have Style 243 with 225/50-17 Nokian RSI (runflat) winter tires on my care (Style 277 for summer tires). You can see pictures in my post here: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=67802

I want to thank you for your post!
Today has been an interesting, and challenging day. We picked up our E61 and found 2 sets of snow tires/rims for it. The first set was at a used car store we've dealt with many times. They mounted ok; had problems at speed. Didn't know offset, or rim numbers so we said, "Thanks. NO thanks." and left the rims and tires at the store.
The other rims/tires are on our E61 now. A world of difference.

Question: what is the proper torque for wheel bolts? First dawn tomorrow I need to check tire air pressure and wheel bolt torque.
Thanks again!
DaveL

Thanks so much! It's been a long day. We have been reading the manual; my wife had taken it back out to the car and I hadn't checked the torque setting.

We picked up our new-to-us '06 530 xit at about noon today. Since then we've had bought and had 2 sets of snow tires installed; and experienced problems along the way. We're in good shape now.

It's an incredible car, and I feel very lucky!

Regards,
DaveL

Thanks that helped. Today my wife did an incredible job going over our car. And we torqued the wheels, and properly inflated the used snowtires/rims we bought yesterday. They were originally purchased from a BMW dealer, and are proper spec. Snow tires are mainly sold out in Canada so we were very lucky finding these.

Thanks again for your post! We just checked out our summer rims. The fellow that swapped to our winter tires said that the summer rims weren't stock (although they're BMW rims.) Since we bought the car used anything is possible. The summer rims for our car have the proper offset: "8JX18 EH2 IS43

Thanks again,
Dave
