I replaced my clock spring today because my steering wheel buttons stopped working. The buttons now work but now I have a passenger restraint/airbag fault that wont go away.
it seems that sometimes reconnecting the battery will fix it but i've had no joy. any ideas?
thanks!

now the awd fault is also lit up...should I just assume this is a 2nd faulty clock spring?
the electrical gremlins in this car are really getting frustrating....

finally got another clock spring. replaced it and the passenger restraint light went out...but the 4x4 fault remains. ugh. hard to believe that yet another spring is faulty.
this issue is scary because sometimes the transmission will actually go out of sync and the car starts bucking for a few seconds randomly. if that happens on the highway i'd be in real trouble...

after more research it appears this is related to alignment of the clock spring. does anybody know exactly what the alignment of the clock spring needs to be? apparently there are arrow markers? thanks.

this thread is getting lonely...but what the heck i may as well document my observations.
i reinstalled the clock spring and aligned the arrow with the mount point.
...then the 4x4 error went away !!! but the passenger airbag light came back...
wow all i can say is these electrical gremlins are insane. i have no words left.

I would suggest making sure that all your battery connections (positive and negative) are well fasten, I recommend to re-tighten. This has happened to me, discharged battery and the 4x4 have happened because they were slightly loose.
