Default Rear end wobble!!!

Hey!!!

I was driving the wife's car the other day when I noticed the rear felt unstable at speed (120kmh/80mph) but only sometimes, what do you think I should look into first, tyres are Conti and new, plus when I asked her if she'd noticed this before she said yes even when she had winter tyres on Dunlop I think, it had new rotors and pads fitted not long after we get it almost a year ago

Thanks!!!

Do you know if the tires were balanced when you mounted them?

I had some Conti DWS installed awhile back. I drove home and noticed that the rear end was moving around after hitting some bumps. Checked pressure and thought it was the tire lube used in the installation.... Days later, rear end was still not right. Brought it back to shop and they replaced it with Bridgestone 960. from mile one to now, no problem at all.

If it sort of tramlines when you go over a seam in the road seal (a seam running in the same direction as you are driving) It will almost certainly be the rear ball joint. It doesn't take much wear to feel this. If you have done around 100,000km I'd be surprised if they were not worn.

We have 2 sets of wheels and it does it with both sets, it's not all the time, I was thinking maybe a fault with the air-ride????

It doesn't tramline it wobbles from the rear, I've had an E46 that tramlined like mad till I did the wishbones but this is different

Have you checked your wheel bearings and alignment?
