Can someone please . I think I have found an audio amplifier in the back of my E61. I want to add the Basslink that I had in my E46 into the E61 but need to find the audio amp and started looking in the same place that it is in the E46. So I removed the panel that covers the spare wheel and found a silver box with all sorts of connectors going into it.

Is this the audio amp, if it is then fantastic I should be able to tap off the rear speakers.

Or is it just the Bluetooth module. If it is its a bloody big box just for a bit of bluetooth!!!

Help appreciated.

Unless it's different between the E60 and E61, that's not your amp. The amp is located on the left side of the trunk behind all the carpeted panels.

That is your BlueTooth module. What sound system do you have?

I believe marcm is going to post pics once he finds it. If he can't find it then I'll take my trunk apart and post some for ya. I wouldn't connect any aftermarket subs to the factory amp, it wont have enough power to drive them.

The car has the media pack which gives me Nav Prof, Bluetooth and 6DC changer. I had to push the dealer to enable MP3 on the in dash CD though.

The sound isnt that bad but definatley lacks the low down I've been used to.

Were you able to find the amp and take a picture of it?

You did not find any radio amplifier, you have just found the blue tooth hand free mobile phone system.
