I have been quoted ?150 (UK Sterling) just to update the DVD for the Pro Navigation. Current disc is 2004-02 but doesn't have quite a lot f major Uk roads - eg the M6 Toll.
Anybody bought this update. Is it worth it ? Any cheaper options ?

Contact andy545. He's based in the Netherlands and he will burn you 2005-1 (which does have the M6 Toll) for ?10.
I'd do it for you but I don't have the hardware.

Please do not discuss illegally copying or pirating BMW or NAVTEQ service materials here (even if you believe it's "legal" in your country/jurisdiction).
Please consider purchasing navigation disc updates through official channels. When you spend US$50000 or more on a vehicle, I'd hope you can afford about US$200 for a navigation disc update every now and then.

I would not intend to get illegalsoftware copies.
But, having been charged ?1,600 for sat nav (on a car which already has the only expensive bit, the screen- probably component cost under ?150), it does seem to be milking a monopoly to charge so much for a simple update.
This compares very poorly with the nautical world, where we have had sat nav much longer (and I have had two boat nav's) where the chart upgradeds are much more widely available (and typically internet updatable)

Waiting for february delivery of 325i Touring and 130i
According my sources, DVD Europe High 2005/03 or 2006/01 will be released very soon; these DVD or CD sets are just too expensive so better wait as DVD Europe High 2005/02 was released somewhere last April.

last update: today Europe High 2006/01 arrived at my dealers

What is the meaning of the "High" version ?
I have been looking for a "Professional" Nav DVD - seen a few on e-bay but prices quite high and expect will drop soon as I had heard 2006-01 due soon.
Lets hope the street criminals don't cotton on to the prices, otherwise they will, break in to steal the DVD's

Thanks for your kind offer.
In fact I have now obtained off e-bay, both a 2005-01 DVD (11 Euro) and now a 2005-02 (30 Euro). Assuming one or both of these show up, then I am sorted.
Tempted to report BMW for monopoloy pricing of the disks though
