Can a powered tailgate be retrofited to an E61 ?

I just got back from California where I had a rental Audi Q8 with a powered tailgate which was really brilliant !!!

Now I want one for my E61

 

Definitely a nice feature but I'm not sure if it can be installed later. My only complaint is that the only way to close the tailgate is with the button on the tailgate itself - you can't close it with the remote or even from the button near the drivers seat.

 

You mean a Q7, Correct? No such thing as a Q8 ...yet.

As the saying goes you can have any thing you want Retrofitted , but it will cost you, a lot.

I had most of mine replaced due to water issues and the Pneumatics of it looked like they cost 4-500 by them selves.. then an idrive update all the sensors... etc... you see where I'm going right.

 

I have this modification on my to-do list as well... Anyone else with experience / knowledge on this one?

Yes, Q7....I can never work out which model those Audi's are. It was like a Rhinoceros on wheels !! I am 6ft 5" 200lbs so it was a good fit actually, lots of room (unlike my 10hrs coach flight to California) I may be getting an X5 next.
