Power steering loss

Help please driving home tonight and the steering went really stiff as if there was no power steering then went ok then again when trying to park at home. Just been out to check the power steering fluid thats fine tried the steering again is stiff then went fine took it up the road and it's gone stiff again

Anyone got any ideas?
