HI All

I picked up my brand new 520d touring and noticed something strange..
when you turn on high beam the inner lights dont change at all, and stay on the low beam equivalent
outer lights of course switch to high beams but the inner ones dont do nada..
Is this normal behaviour..

My Ride: 2008 520d LCI. HUD, active lights + high beam assistant, panoramic sunroof, manual gbox, grey leather and navi professional. It's a nice car with an impressive engine.

Yes. Mine do the same
See what happens when you turn on your turnsignal or steer left or right. You will then see that these inner lights light up on the side you turn to.
You most probably have the active lights package.

Very cool feature!

Nope nothing happens, maybe the lights are fitted but the modules arent activated or something, more google work needed, maybe its just a matter enabling them ?

Do your headlights move in the direction you turn? Or are they standing still..? Place your car in front of a wall or something and check it out.

Is your car an LCI (2008 --> ) ?
Xenon?

You might just have the xenon without the active lights package.

On my 2008 LCI model the inner lights are the 'full-beam'. In other words, they come on when I switch to full beam but go off ( switch to angel eyes only) on low beam.

This could be local and country regulatory conditions, as my car is UK configured, it might be different in other countries, so that the inner light's remain off on full-beam etc.

You could phone BMW customer services in your county, they are very good in my opinion, they could tell me everyhing about my car before I bought it, build date, options, etc.
