Is there a manual way to open the glass when the micro switch fails?? I need to get it open to access the bolts for the roof spoiler and its refusing to open with the button on the wiper!

Nope not resorted to that yet.

It miraculously decided to open just as I had given up! managed to get the bolts in. Seems to be opening itself randomly but I think I've found a way to open it manually. Need to remove the inner boot cover and poke a flat blade screwdriver in at the same angle as the window.

I'll order a new microswitch. Spoke to the dealer and its about ?50 inc vat.

Had no joy cleaning the circuit board on the amplifier to try to sort the remote locking issue. Afraid that ?150 inc vat but I've emailed BMW cust service to complain as it failed due to a design fault that lets water in through the roof spoiler. They revised the spoiler a few months after my car was built but din't recall??? Not expecting any good will but no harm asking.

Yesterday, I also was faced with this problem... at the begining i thought that the problem was with the button ... but then I saw
problems with the washers under the spoiler ... Now I do not know what is the reason either button, or that block under spoiler.
NEED HELP!! it always opens while driving
