I have 18s on my XI w/ summer tires and I've been searching to buy a set of good, used Styling 138 (7.5x17 w/ 43mm offset) as a dedicated set of snow wheels... well, I couldn't find any. Instead, I found a set (5 rims) of Styling 57 (7.5x17 w/ 40mm offset) that are found on X5s. The only draw back is that they weigh ~1 kg more... that just means they're more robust for the tough terrain. I mounted Bridgestone Blizzaks WS60s and they're great!
So, if any XI owners are looking for a separate set of BMW rims, then the 57s can be a solid inexpensive option.

Oh no, they don't go very well with E61
1Kg more is a lot ..
Sorry, I don't think it was a good choice.

And, especially in winter driving, they are more robust and will do a better job of shrugging off potholes and the other dangers of winter roads.
