I just testdrove in an e61 with panoramic roof from 2005 and I was surprised by the amount of noise from the wind which came from the panoramic roof when the speed was 80+ km/h (55+ mph). Is this normal or is something going on? (and I mean of course when the roof is closed...)

It's a common problem that can be fixed with an adjustment...

If shade was also closed it's not normal. You should not notice any additional noise.
If shade is open, but roof is closed there is a minor wind noise above 50mph.
Additional noises can be removed by adjusting windows.

I think at 100 mph the loudest noise in ours is the kids in the back chanting "Faster!".
Just kidding!
Our roof is quiet though so I'd agree it should be an adjustment issue.

Shade was open indeed. It wasn't really that loud, but I just noticed it rightaway. So you think that is just normal? I guess I will have to drive it some more to see if it really bothers me...
