Anyone got any info as to whether there will be any new engine options in the near future??
What about the new low emissions 3 litre diesel thats coming in the 3 for example???
Any inside info would be appreciated!!

No new engine changes for the model year (MY) 2009 5er. In this post you will find the latest brochure. Its still the same engines. They have however changed the iDrive. (The MY2009 production starts around September this year, so the first demo cars are out there at the beginning of 2009.)

My car is being delivered in days, I wonder if there is any chance that I got the new i-Drive controller, and I also wonder if it is worth the hype.
On a sidenote, I'm sitting in Amsterdam airport (with no designated smoking areas) and I have seen mostly E-class Mercedez and 5-series bmw as taxis ... all diesel of course.
