Normally, ordering a new car should be a moment where you have that sweet smile on your face for days.

This time, though, it's with mixed feelings; I had high hopes for the current car, but as it turned out BMW couldn't get the engine going properly and finally threw in the towel a couple of weeks ago and officially stated that they cannot fix it. So a new car it is. Just before the F11 is to be presented.

Anyway, I do like the E61 and will now look forward to being one of the left overs at the E61 forum when all of you moved on the F11!

So, what's it gonna be...?

E61 530i

416 Carbon Black
2NR 172M 19"

ZRP Advantage (Cruise, cup holders, ski sack, alarm, roof rails)
ZRS Comfort (Leather, PDC, ext climate control, xenon)
337 M-sport package
2TB Sportauto tranny
402 Panoramic glass sunroof
423 Floor mats, velour
431 Autom interior dimming mirror
453 Ventilated seats
456 Comfort seats
470 Isofix
496 Rear heated seats
563 Extended light package
5AC High-beam assistant
609 Navigation Professional
610 Head-up display
644 Bluetooth phone prep
6FL USB
752 Individual High-end Audio system
761 Individual tinted rear windows

Production week 14 (w/c 5 April), expected delivery week 18 (w/c 3 May).

Wow, that could very well be the ideal E61 (Though I would go the Dynamic Drive route instead of M).

Hope that this one will be completely problem-free.

Does this one come with autodim/retracting side mirrors as well?

That's extra and I opted for not having that option. Have to say stop somewhere! Or maybe my wife did.

congrats on the order

That's an awesome options list you have there. What colour combo did you order on the inside, beige with black high gloss trim?

Its going to look great. Here's a picture of my previous E61 in Carbon Black on M172s -- I took the picture in Sweden (Visby, Gottland)

I think it'll be a while until most of the regulars here move to the F10/11 -- I for sure will be holding on to my E60 for a little longer -- so you won't be alone

Thanks Pete!

Actually, what finally did it for me was your pics (one of them above) of you car with 172M. So cool! Otherwise I'm automatically more for a car in silver or in antracite grey.

Colour combo:
Beige Nasca leather
Black high gloss

Again, also here: thanks for your advice - all of you, your comments on my poll helped a lot. This is a great forum!

Hey, congrats to your new car, it will be such a great ride for sure!

I know it like it was yesterday, the day when my dealer called me to say, that my car is ready to pick up..
Then the moment when I first saw her, it was love at first sight!

I hope you will be pleasured with your new baby, but take care of finger prints on the interior trim, it's a bitch to keep clean.

Its just going to be such a classy and elegant colour combo, but still have that sports feel about it with sports pack and rims. I am VERY jealous of the Sports Auto, new iDrive and Individual Audio system, those are huge improvements over the pre-LCI models. Even though you had a tough time with your current ride, this is a very nice end result

I am totally jealous of all the technology in that E61!

My E61 is an Atari 5200 by comparison...
