Default Mileage Premium on 2006 potential sale

So...i bought a low mileage 530xiT about 3 years ago. 11400 on it when i took possession. Super clean car, bought through CarMax. I've managed to put on another 10k miles. Recently had another set of twins so i need to move to a minivan. My question is, what sort of premium for the low miles should i be looking to add to the price of the car when i put it up for sale? It's got 2 years left on its maxcare warranty. Personally, i was looking to get somewhere between 14 and 17k for it total. Hot price or crackpipe? I'v put an mtech from bumper on it, and sideskirts as well. Car is in excellent condition.

Let me know...i have to try to get this up for sale in April..thanks.

Look it up on NADA, that will give you a rough idea of any mileage adjustment to the value of the car. good luck.

Edit: NADA high retail with 21000 miles when I select HK audio and NAV as options is 10037.00. 14K incredibly ambitious, 17K yea that's crack is whack territory. E60s are not worth what they used to be a few years ago. M5s are on Ebay in the teens. If you eek 11K out of it, be happy. Relistically I think you're looking at somewhere in the 9s if you really want to move it in a decent amount of time.

my $.02, good luck

F***...9k is disappointing...might as well keep it for that...ugh. Interest on these full size wagons has faded that much?

yep, interest in twelve year old BMWs that are now two generations old is not that great.

Yeah, us big wagon lovers are a small part of the BMW community, hence the lack of a US sold 5 wagon since 2013.

I agree with your thought about just keeping it with low miles like that. Our 2006 530xi has about 110K, and in 3 years it has cost our extended warranty provider nearly $20K in repairs. Big ticket stuff started needing attention just past 100K, so it all goes at the same time. We figure she should now be good to for another 100K miles.

I say just keep driving it till it has 75K or so, then sell for whatever you can get.

Honestly, you can maaaaybe try BaT with it being low miles, but it being a "plain old" N52 and not the N54, you likely won't see what you want. Your saving grace is "Last generation of 5 series wagon in the US" and "Low af miles."

I'd list it for $12k and take any offer above $9k. Even with low miles, suspension will still need to be addressed just due to age.

Done deal for 12,900. Guy flew in from Santa Cruz on saturday for the transaction. Just goes to show, a great condition car with ultra low miles and an available warranty trumps what some would consider to be no longer desirable even to the 'enthusiast' crowd. I wouldn't rush out trying to sell a heavily modded, 150K+ mile car...they just don't compare to what i had up. those will get the 6-7k lowballers to come out of the woodwork.

peace...now i drive a minivan...sacrifices.
