My Ride: E61 - 525Da with sports pack & some more stuff (color = carbon black with kastanjebraun leather)
Hi All,
just ordered a 525D break in black with sport pack and walnutt leather seats ...
I'm doubting to change the standard wheels or not since I saw the M172 wheels (19") under the E60 version, suppeerrr...
Does anyone know where to get the M172 wheels in 18" (replica) ?
Alternative is to put the M5 wheels (18") under there (already found those), pictures anyone ?
Any suggestions, do or don't do's ?

My Ride: 530i Touring, M Sport, build date 10/05, Silver Grey, Black leather, Maple Anthracite, Anthracite roof lining, panorama roof, M Aerodynamic, M Steering wheel, M Sport suspension, sport seats, shadow line, 135 M wheels, Goodyear NCT 5 runflats, and some other stuff too.
Aside from how you want the car to look, it depends on what sort of driving you do. Fact is, the lower the tyre profile, the harder the ride in nearly all cases. If you never leave the bitumen and you only drive on quality roads then 19's are okay. If you use the wagon on bumpy, country or dirt roads on any sort of regular basis I would see the 18's, 40 profile, as an acceptable limit, especially with runflats which ride harder than regular tyres. I have the M wheels, 135's which are 18's and certainly wouldn't want to go any further with the mixed road conditions on which I travel.

Yeah if they are both run flats or both non run flats, however, I had an M3 CS yesterday with CSL style 19" wheels on and it was so, so, so much smoother a ride compared to my style 135 wheels with the run flats on.
So much so I am going to change the wheels or the tyres, or maybe even swap for an M3 CS!!

My Ride: 525i Touring 2005, Carbonblack, Nappa Naturbraun, M-pack, Comfortline, Navi Prof, Steptronic, Bi-Xenon, Eisenmann exhaust.
I would go for 18" original BMW. They look best on the E61 and the ride remains ok.

I can also loose the Runflat's . Price is exactly the same.
I prefer TOYO tires on this, they stick like glue...

Just wondering how the fitting was on your E61, seen to the width of the rimm and the tyres!!!
R U using spacers to get the rimm 'out' in the rear or did it just fit without any problems?

I would stick with the 135 wheels. I like them alot.
