I played with the new sat nav for about 15 min. The resolution is much higher than the old one and it's way faster and easier to use.
I'm really annoyed by the speed of my CCC. The HD nav calculates the route in just a couple of seconds!
It's a good thing that colors are personal taste. I really like the look of the brown interior. Especially 'cause the rest is black.

Thanks!
My dealer mentioned that with the hard disk based system, you could now upload several thousand songs to the car hard drive - do you know if this is correct?
He also said that the in-dash DVD drive could now be used to play DVDs on the car screen! I presume this is just plain wrong, or only available with the TV preparation option. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

You already have great advice here, so I would just confirm what the others wrote;
- SAT
- get confirmation that the 19" rims come with the Touring!!!!!
- Natural Brown looks great, but if the wife don't like it, then its obviously a no-go! Click on the pics in signature (525dA)
The new NAV-Pro DOES play DVDs, but does not include a TV module to receive the signals over the air. That is a separate option.
I just switch to a car with Active Steering. Now if you are on a budget, then I suggest you do NOT test it, because once you've driven a 5er with Active Steering, you'll never want to drive a standard one again! For me its without a doubt one of the best options they offer... even if IMHO it should really be offered as standard on a "drivers car" in this class.
Panaroma Glass Roof is great, but not an obsolute must have. I had window tints (including UV & Heat Protection) fitted by Car Glass for about EUR350 and with that route you can choose how light/dark you want the tint to be. I recommend the retro-fit approach, which can easily be removed when returning it to the lease company.
ps. I personally like the sound of the Carbon Black E61 you mentioned above, but I think I've developed an addiction for Carbon Black cars

Well.....I can't order my car yet as the 2009 Business Edition offer isn't on the BMW ordering system until tomorrow!
So I still have a little bit of time to consider the colour combination.
I'll probably go for Platinum Grey again, with black leather and the dark poplar trim (just to do something a bit different!)
But I'm also still thinking about Deep Sea Blue with beige leather and light wood trim.
I might have to toss a coin for it!

Deep Sea Blue? Is that availble on a M-Sport? Wasn't aware of that. Anyway, I wouldn't choose that combo. Why not the Platinim Grey with the Beige? Am I the only one who likes this combo?

Just out of interest was your old one with the Guildford dealer? I only ask as I did the same thing with my Mercedes and when I told the BMW dealer in Guildford (to see if he could hurry my new car along) he mentioned then that they had car in with flood damage that was most likely going to be written off.
I should be picking up my new E61 on Friday with any luck. I went for the Neptune blue and the beige Nascar leather but I will have to wait a few more days before I will know if that was a good choice.
I can hopefully confirm the claim about uploading music to the new sat-nav as it has 8GB of hard disk space reserved for it. With that in mind I didn't bother with the USB option as the HD sat-nav has it's own USB port in the glove box for music upload. However you can't play music directly form that port, you use it to upload to the hard disk first. The system can also rip music from CDs to the hard disk which will save me going from CD to PC to memory stick to car.

Yes - that sounds like my car! Vines BMW in Guildford just before Christmas...
I've not seen the Neptune Blue before - the car configurator on the web page only shows Le Mans Blue and Deep Sea Blue. I'd be interested to know what that looks like!

.Your right, I just noticed they don't offer Neptune blue for the M Sport. I'm getting an SE (collecting it at 11am on Friday from Vines
) as I didn't want the harder suspension. Even the SE seems harsh after my E Class air-suspension.

I'm pleased to see it is working out OK for you. I am still waiting for the insurance company to make up their minds on my Merc

Was your Merc black? The AA guy that recovered my car showed me a picture of a black Mercedes that he had been to earlier that day!
Luckily the BMW was already on order (only 11 hours until I collect it
)
