Looking at other threads on this forum, the switch either comes straight off or is stuck fast on!
kamelkungen,
I had the same issue replacing the micro-switch on the glass which was stuck fast once I removed the nut?
The switch is stuck on by salt corrosion between the alloy sleeve in the switch and the alloy spigot. So you are not missing a trick, it is just stuck!
So I cleaned up round the spigot with a small wire brush, used penetrating fluid and also used a small bearing puller which applies pressure to the central spigot whilst pull on switch housing with its claws. It came off with very little pressure so no issue of damaging glass.
The new switch just presses onto the spigot with no issues.
