Hi there,
I have a 2005 E61 530d from Germany (Speedo in KPH) and I planning to drive to the UK for a few days. How can I get the car to display in MPH? Is there a switch which can electronically adjust (like on Mercedes)? I know it's only for a few days, but would be good to correctly observe the limits.
Thanks in advance!

Check your car settings in the iDrive system. Here you can adjust the MPH/KPH setting.

ok. I tried it. The only place under iDrive where I can change the Kilometers to Miles is via the "Display Settings". But this doesn't do anything to the speedo - only changes the distance when calculating a route etc.
Any other ideas?

i thought they use KPH in the UK

All our speed limits and distances are Miles.
But you HAVE to buy things in Metric eg a Litre of fuel, meter's of carpet or a Kg of sugar and the metric measurements have been taught in school for over 30 years but most people still use the imperial.
Miles per gallon
A pound of sugar (you buy sugar in 1 pound or 2.2Kg)
Distances are becoming more metric with the exception of miles, but it is common place to refer to inches or feet when referred to someones height.
At least we got rid of pounds, shillings and pence!

We use a real mixture of metric and imperial!
