I parked the car in a dusty environment with the sunroof tilted for a week, and a lot of dust got collected on the top of the shade part of the roof (under the glass).
I want to remove the shades in order to clean them - how can I do this? |
Sorry I don't have the panorama roof and I don't know what parts you're exactly meaning, but maybe you can find your answer here:

Thanks Antti, very helpful. It seems though that the floating roofliner can only be removed after the glass pieces are out.
I won't be doing this as its too complicated, but I have copied the TIS instructions in this Word document for anyone that might be interested in this in the future: Attachment 123604 |

I did it this past weekend. Disassembly is not hard, but I expect reassembly to be somewhat tedious getting the sunroof glass into proper alignment.
The front and rear sunshades (aka floating headliners) are NOT the same. The forward one is larger than the rear. My experience outlined here: https://5series.net/forums/e61-touri...0/#post1600049 |

You're welcome- hope it helped. I've updated the post with some info on re-installation. Bottom line, getting things realigned wasn't as bad as I thought.
If you didn't want to DIY this/go to a dealer, I'm guessing an auto upholstery shop would do it for you. Looks like you're in the same area I'm in- I've used both Sure-Fit in Arlington and Pollet Automotive in Fairfax without any issues. Have you figured out which panel is missing & sourced a replacement yet? |

Cool, we’re in Alexandria and will have to check those places out. My wife is afraid we will cook in there this summer... I think it’s the front panel, will take a picture. I’ve seen some on eBay. |

Any updates? I’m also missing one of the sun shades but don’t know which one. I have one that operates fully to the front or fully to the back.
