It was interseting that you found the petrol 525 underpowered

My guess is you need to keep the revs high (4000rpm+) to get the most out of the engine in the E60/E61. Although I didn't end up speccing it on my car, at the lower end of the range the Steptronic is better matched to the diesel I feel. Got to love that 400nm of torque!

Happy hunting.

On the BMW website there is a button which shows cars coming soon. That's how I located my 530d Touring (May 2004, purchased Sept 2004)

Seem to be quiten a few around if prepared to travel - most dealers will deliver

Hi

No this was not mine. I was interested as my wife has a near identical car and we were thinking about getting a 7 seater due to 3 small children.
The guy told me he ended the auction as he sold it for ?28k private.

Regards

idoru, thanks for your experiences.?

I am, as you've guessed, trying to sell my E46 and had been considering buying a new E91 however I'm not that impressed by the looks.?

Went by our local dealer the other week and there was a silver E91 325i in the showroom - have to say I was really quite smitten... still don't like the 6-series type grille, but from every other angle the car looked very nice. Looked very like a smaller E61 - that said, it seemed tiny compared to my 525d.

How's your search going btw?

I've bought the car!! Picked it up on Tuesday and I love it. Managed to get the price down a bit too. Also had them fit an Aux audio input but it doesn'y work so it'll have to back which is a bit of a pain. The previous owner hasn't looked after the wheels too well, not that they've been kirbed, they're just caked in brake dust. Hopefully I can sort that out at the weekend.

When I was picking it up they had an E91 330i in the showroom. Very nice but it just didn't feel big enough for me.
