My Ride: e39 525i Touring, will order e61 as soon as I can decide on engine and options...

Forgot; the "load area enhancement package" or whatever it's called (option 493), adds a few useful things in the cargo area. The high gloss shadowline is beautiful (option 760). The advanced aircon very...advanced. And good. Let's you mix the air for the kids in the back also. How small are the kids? If small, ISOFIX might come in handy.

My two suggestions would be Steptronic + Panoramic sunroof.

Just about to order my 530d M Sport Touring and was interested if through other peoples experiences I was missing anything.
I'm only talking about "essential" options here, stuff like Night Vision although cool, is not essential!!
I am missing anything obvious??

Thanks guys - looks like the advanced air con is a must, will change that today.
Personally I want a manual car, previous cars are M3's, an Exige and a 911 so I want to retain as much driver involvement as possible (for when I am on my own - sans wife, baby and dog!!). For the same reasons I don't want active steering.
I like the idea of comfort access but know I would never trust it (I'm always going back to check I've locked my car) so it would just add to my paranoia
HUD is really tempting but it's another grand on an already expensive family car - we'll see!
What are people thoughts on the Auburn interior
or  ??

I really wanted auburn leather but i never saw it in real life. So i did not take the chance and i got grey leather instead. But now i have seen it, its the best interior available with truffle brown.

With the xenon lights, the headlamp assist is a great option - and only ?90. Comfort seats are great, as is the HUD. I had my windows treated with supaglass for security. Darkened glass actually keeps the interior cooler than I expected - and my car isn't even black inside !
