Great choice. And in Europe at least, for many a fast Touring / estate is much cooler than a saloon / sedan - the superfast Audi S4 / S6 in particular are most desirable in the Avant versions as Q cars
...the bottom line is - if a boy racer in his vw gti places himself next this grandpa's car at any traffic light, when the lights turn green, all he will see is the back of the car

Hi rsyed,

Really brave choice to have 19" both for winter and summer set. I am dealing with my dealer to buy back my 18" 135 rims for winter tyres. Let's see how much he is ready to go down in price. BTW what the hell of tyres are you having on your rims. If you have 167 with ET 17 means that you have M6 rear rims with size 9,5 x 19. Which tyres do you have on them, 285/35 or the allowed 245/35 as mine.

Next time I'll be in Vienna, and I am at least five times yearly, I will keep an eye on every 5 touring to see if I meet one of your cars.

Hi Marco,

I am running 275/40 in the rear. there is no rubbing at all. in fact, i have a friend with also a touring who has been using the stock m172 wheels with 275 in the rear and 13 mm spacers. also no rubbing. i think both of us have the advantage that we have tow bars which means that the car lift itselfs up automatically everytime you put some load in the rear...

For the winter setup, i will be running 245/35 on the front 8,5" wheels for all four.

If i were you, I would sell on ebay and contact one of the tire dealers in germany to get you a winter setup in 19" - much much cheaper than going through your dealer..

cheers

Hi rsyed,
You are right the German dealers are much cheaper than Austrian/Italian. I did buy my tyres set in Germany as well.
By the way it has nothing to do with the tow bar, all the E61 has the automatic adjustable rear suspensions.
