Sole issue right now is trying to get the standalone to turn on the cooling fan. Literally that's it. Then I can go for some test drives.
If you're in the FB groups, I showed I installed a separate clutch fluid reservoir from an 04-06 GTO on the driver side utilizing some random bracket and an unused bolt:
After some fiddling around with cabling, my seats, L7, and display finally function as they should. I've also been able to get the DSC to communicate and remove the ABS errors from the cluster at least. Ended up replacing the yaw sensor under the passenger seat as a precaution.
Headliner has been re-installed, but now it's a cheap black suede. I've also re-purposed the pano panels by also covering them in new headliner but then fiberglassing them to the headliner back. As much as I would've loved an actual non-pano headliner, I couldn't justify the $1400+ cost. I will say if anyone plans on doing similar in the future, run the fiberglass around the entirety of the panels instead of strips like I did. It's still plenty strong, but I feel like I could absolutely rip it off with some oomph.
Also just last weekend, got extremely lucky at the junkyard. Went for the 40% off sale, hoping to grab the CIC from a 535xi, but that was yoinked. Instead, someone left the driver xenon for some unknown reason. I have the pre to lci cables coming in thanks to that. Same day, went to another junkyard down the street. Came across an '04 530i they just put out in the yard. Turns out, it was a manual. I now finally have the correct rubber boot (needed trimmed) and foam insert.
Hopefully the next update is an actual driving video.
