Hey guys
I have not pulled the trigger myself on this yet - but I've been searching for a good tow hitch solution for some time - for trailer (motorcycle) and bike rack etc.
Anyhoo - found a brilliant company in LA - Eckharts Hitch and Welding. Three locations close to SEPULVEDA AVE including Reseda I think. Check them out on the interwebby thing...
Ask for Eric. Great service.

They just quoted me $360 for a custom hitch with 2" receiver - through or below the rear fender - whatever you want they will do. Rated to 3600lbs.
Full integrated electrics with seven pin connector was an extra $260 I think. They do BMW and AUDI etc all the time.
To me this sounds like a great price.....I have nothing to gain from this. Just passing on the information as I know some folks are interested.

That's all folks.....

Cheers
TB

We'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you're not the owner of the shop... LOL.

Just let us know when you actually get it installed and post up some pics...

Oh, and welcome to the forums.

Hey Mr Jerk, do you tow anything? Do you you care at all about how hard it is to find any info in the US about towing with the E6? I presume NOT.

Thanks for scaring away someone bringing to us useful information. I don't care if he even works at the place but upon reading the post, it is presented as him being a car driver just like us. So get off your high post count horse and use a little tact next time.

I have been trying to find a towing wiring solution for a while and my dealer can't find anything for direct plug n play by them. A very good custom hitch shop here has done this for my Audi Avant but cannot figure it out for my 08 E61. They were all finished and when I started the car the extra engine fan came on immediately. After getting that to not occur by disconnecting various tow wiring, the rear driving lamps stayed on with "day time running lights" even when the main light switch was set to off.

The rear lamps are not supposed to be on with DTRL.

Maybe with any luck the OP will give more information!!!

I've had eckhart install two custom hitches on my last two subaru legacy's. They do great work and you can barely see the hitch, with little to no loss of ground clearance. Highly recommended!

I know.....not a great "1st post" for me either, right?
