Default F10 M5 manual illuminated knob shifter retrofit

Hey there.
I was wondering if anyone has done this install.
I've seen a lot of diy on other cars for this one or the zhp illuminated one but none on an e60/1.
Also curious about ssk, I had the 545 one on my e39 a while back and was wondering if it's that much different that the 535 x drive.
Let me know. Cheers!

I can't imagine that it is that hard...I bought a F11 M5 illuminated shift knob and boot and retrofitted it to my e46 zhp.....stole the illumination power from the light in the ashtray and it lights the knob up beautifully. I would imagine that it wouldn't be a whole lot different on a e60/e61!?!?

I wish my wagon was a manual....or that there were alternate gear selectors for the autos...mine is boring and too tall for my liking. But I don't like the imitation 08+ knobs some have put on their autos.
