Hi Guys

Im in a bit of a flap, I have purchased a set of OEM 19" 172 spider alloys and now have doubts as to whether or not they will fit. The wheels are:

FRONT 8.5 Inches X 19 Inches. REAR 9.5 Inches X 19 Inches.

Tyres, FRONT 245/35/ZR19' Y(186MPH) rating. REAR 275/30/ZR19' Y(186MPH) rating.

BMW Part No's : FRONT 3611.790.5325. / REAR 3611.790.5326.

OFSETS: FRONT ET 18 REAR ET 32

Help help help, has anyone fitted to their own e61??????????????????????????????????????????????////

They will fit but you may need spacers for the rear wheels!? (as our cars have ET 20 a pair of 12mm spacers would do the job)
Here?s a link to the members gallery!

You definitely need spacers - atleast 13mm (26mm total for the rear axle) otherwise there will be rubbing on the inside of the rear wheels.

Thanks for the feedbaack. You suggest 13mm spacers and the poster above suggests 12mm, what would be the correct sized spacer and where would I source???? Im guessing I would need longer bolts also? When the wheels are finally on will they look and behave in the same way or am I going to a lot of hassle? Help help help....

I know they definitely work with 13mm spacers (my friend has a 535dT with the 172 wheels).

I dont want to argue with deeman, but his logic seems somewhat off. He says that our cars have et 20 and the 172s have et 32 so we need 12. Well that is incorrect logic. The et have nothing to do with our cars, but is a property of the alloys. Yes indeed, our cars allow alloys with et 20 PROVIDED those alloys are 8" wide. the 172s are 9,5" wide and respectively have a different et. in fact, even though, the 172s have 12 mm more offset, in reality, the 9,5 with e32 only stick out 7 mm. the remaining 5 mm get lost in the side of the wheel...

regarding sourcing the 13 mm spacers - i got my set (and so did my friend) from http://www.lissy-car-tuning-parts.com/ They ship pretty much all over europe...

We use the 172M wheels, with no spacers in our E61 535d, and no problem.

To be 100% according to BMW's homologation for such car you should put the same wheels and tyres size both on front and rear axle. I. e. 8,5" wheels with 245/35 18 tyres.

Hi Marco - this is really the case with the E61 lci - with the pre-lci, we were only allowed to mount max 18"... but anyway, agree with you, 8,5" front and rear axle is a good idea - you can swap them alternatively every other season to get a constant wear...

Are you using 9,5" in the rear? really hard to believe that..

Plus you are according to law and to what BMW allows you to fit on this car (LCI). Wider wheels on rear axle are not allowed on papers for the E61.

Absolutley right!
Sorry I?m abit bad at explain things...
I used ET 20 for reference to calculate and I know they will fit with at least 12 mm spacers because my rear wheels are 285/30-20 10 x 20 ET 20!

Think u can go up to 15mm spacer without rolling the fender/arches if you want a more agressive look, we?re only talking about 2mm less gap between the tyre wall and the fender/arch!

I would go for 13mm because rsyed?s friend have that and i works fine for him, but a spacer between 12 and 15mm will do the job!
