I am looking to convert my E61 to twin-axle air suspension, ideally using factory BMW parts with self-levelling control and a dash integrated level switch that can raise and lower the suspension to three set levels the same as the X5.
I have a set of JOB blueline front coilovers that the springs are too soft and the car kept dropping, these have now been removed for -35 lowering springs on standard shocks. Seeing the car lowered to the floor looked amazing but I couldn't drive like that all the time with the roads by me.
As far as I am aware the were no twin-axle air suspension E61 cars from the factory.
My thoughts are to use E53 X5 parts for the conversion, EHC module, solenoid block, pump and tank in the spare wheel well (or maybe a tank behind the passenger boot side panel), front level sensors, and dash integrated level control switch.
I can make a loom up using OE plugs and run lines from the solenoid to the front shocks, then use an air conversion from the coilovers I already have.
Can an E53 EHC module be coded to the E61 chassis and then integrated with ISTA/INPA to set the heights and run as if it left the factory with the system, both cars are an "E" chassis?

The kit may not be what you need, but maybe you could get them to sell you just the two front struts. That's the hard part really.
If you're good with electronics (pretty much have to be for this), find yourself a diverter valve on a solenoid to tee off the factory pump, a few more of the height sensors from the rear, and then you'll have to figure out a controller of some sort. Wouldn't take much.
