I agree, style 184 is my favourite too.

I like the 19" style 166 wheel, but I would feel like a wannabe.
The M6 wheel is the same again, don't mind it at all, in fact quite like it but would always be consious it is an M6 wheel.

Style 172 reminds me of the M3 wheel, and that was the only thing I didn't like about the M3, but it does look good on j9sht silver avant, but too much on a darker car I feel?

Stick with the 135 or have a look at the 184's
Since he doesnt want to screw around with the homologation he will probably stick with 18 inch. So 19 wont be an option. I dont know whether the 184 is available in 18 inch OEM. Otherwise he can still go for the 124's which are nice too and easier to keep clean. The dealer will probably agree on changing them for the 135M's without adding any money.

Rims #32, #71, #89, #123, #124, #129 and #184 are all 18" thus homologated for the E61.

Please forgive my ignorance; but what does homologated mean?

Ok,

maybe it's not the correct word, I don't know for sure,

but the meaning here in Belgium is as follows

if your rimms / tires are "homologated" they will be able to pass when going to the yearly testing centre where we have to go after the car is 4 years old.
Insurance is not a problem.

I called up my dealer and he say's that they have had already some people where non homologated rimms/wheels were rubbing and 'destroying' the car. He however suggested to bring some wheels, same size
and they would fit this under an e61 to see if it's ok or not.

btw this is a pic of 18" M5 style rimms (do they look ugly ?)

No they actually look great, but them you do have the best colour Touring available!!

The style 166 18" wheels on the silver car just looked lost though.

Just wait a second. These M5 rims your showing are 19". I am almost sure about it. Ofcourse they dont look ugly but 18" is a total different story. Whose is that touring so u can check it?

I tried to find it again, but no success till now.
In his signature it states 18" M5 rimms, but doesn't matter anymore, I saw there rimms yesterday on a BMW and they look good but in the end seem harder to clean than the 135 rimms. The 184 and look-a-likes show to much of the brake system to my opinion ...
So to make you happy i've decided to stay with the 135 rimms .

another thing is still bothering me . Should I stick with my current order being
525Da - sport pack in carbonblack
business package
Hogedrukreiniging koplampen
Xenon voor grote en dimlichten
CD wisselaar 6 selecties
PDC
Edelhoutafwerking Riegel Ahorn anthrazit hoogglanzend
kastanjebraun leather seats

or upgrade to a 530Da (and then drop the sport pack)
(keep sport seats & steering wheel) and buy a set of 135 replica's ?
price is more or less the same.

I'd go for 530.
In fact I did

Sports pack is nice, but the extra bhp & Nm are nicer

Well if you ask me, i would stay with your 525da because you also need to think about taxes,... here in Belgium. And if you think about it, if you stay with the 525da you have a sport pack and original 135 replica's instead of fake ones . Also think about it that you can't get the carbonblack if you don't order the sports pack... But yet black is very nice too .

about it
