you need a really small photo file size otherwise they will not upload

We've all; been there.
Join photobucket.com (free), upload your pics to there. It automatically resizes and/or lets you do it on there.
Then post here including an 'insert image' field and copy the address from the relevant photo on photobucket.
Takes longer to describe than to do.

If your photo's are too big (either in terms of file size or dimensions) then this little tool lets you make copies of them at a smaller scale or lower quality.

Just use File Attachments but if the pics are too large
compress them first.
Not a big deal even for Windows XP.

The easiest way is to make it smaller is to open it up in MS paint. Go to Image--> Stretch/Skew
Enter some number less that 100% in the Vert/Horz field. The numbers need to be the same. I usually start off with 35% and do it again at 80%.
