That light poplar wood is gorgeous - I think it is a bad decision that BMWNA doesn't let us order cars with that option -

The dark poplar is too common and looks like the wood in a lot of different cars.

I think the same thing about brushed aluminum...don't understand why BMWNA feels it needs to cherry pick so many options. Don't even get me started on M Sport Package...

[quote name='Robert J' date='Oct 31 2005, 08:14 AM']Congrats!

It looks really nice and really cool controller you had installed!! The interior also looks nice, especially the trims! Wich one of the woods is it?

The controller, is it connected to a PC or? BMW original? Expensive? I have never heard of it before.

Hi,

the wood is light poplar wood, the controller ist standard BMW MY06. The Multimedia is done with Dominic's Interface (see here the MM Forum) and connected to a modded XBox in the back.

Complete installation will cost about 1.000 $ + the modded XBox. Can play anything on Music, Pictures and Movies

BEAUTIFUL CAR! CONGRATULATIONS.

CAN YOU PLEASE KEEP US UP TO DATE ON DOMINIC'S INTERFACE, AND IF THEIR ARE ANY GLITICHES OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

The tv looks great, but I had feared that the cpu unit may not have enough processor memory to keep the interface running smoothly.

Have you had any freezes at all on the idrive that needed restarts yet?

Congrats again!!

Hi,

i've installed a power transformator (12V/220V) in the Back and a modded XBox. The XBox has a 160GB Hard drive and can play Games, MP3 (+ any audio format), DivX (+ any other video format) and pictures (any format).
Works just fine. Only risk is a possible Headcrash due to the 3.5" harddrive in the XBox. Currently everything went's well (M-Suspension and 18" RunFlat). Time will show (maybe a 2.5" laptop harddisc has to be used if the 3.5" crashes).

I'm thinking about an iDrive like UI, but currently it looks like Project Mayhem III.
