I have an E61 2005 with a basic idrive system, i wanted to retro fit an sat nav pro system with 8.8" screen has anybody had luck converting ? without costing an arm and leg?

Any idea if i can retro fit an 8.8 screen replacing my existing 6.5 " screen ?

any clues appreciated......

Yes you can but yes it will cost you.

Just replacing the 6.5 with 8.8 will not help. the right side of the screen will be blank and the screen display will not misaligned.

Then you have to replace the CCC to get the full screen.

Not entirely expensive but I would say 2000 the least and some frustration in the midst of it.

You can check out my threads to see my progress and eventual success. Wasn't really expensive as its really helpful and I can really appreciate the usefulness of the GPS.
