Got hit yesterday in the rear bumper...in a car park, slow speed etc. but still punched a hole and creases in my rear bumper. Rather than pay the huge body shop costs and possibly let them screw up something, is the rear bumper cover easy to remove and replace? I have TIS, so I can get the info...

I will get an estimate done and then see if there is any structural damage...If so, then I will get the shop to replace everything, but if only the bumper, I may replace myself. What do you guys think?

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car. Attached is a pdf on how to remove the bumper. If someone hit you, shouldn't you be looking to them to make good the damage at the repairers of your choice??

The PDF looks like an E60. On the E61 the screws near the light clusters are on the outside, no need to remove any interior trim panels.

It's actually really easy to remove the bumper on the E61. The bumper is quite light and really just a cosmetic shell. Theres a bolt off deformable metal beam underneath. If that's damaged just unbolt it and replace.
