DPF removal

My Ride: 2006 525d M-sport,19" staggered style 95 wheels,custom quad exhaust with modified reiger rear bumper insert,LCI front and rear lights,stage 2 custom remap, DPF removed, cat removed
Default DPF removal

Does removing the DPF but leaving the cat on increase fuel economy on a six pot diesel engine? Or are the manufacturers of these pipes bulling them up?

Yes, removing the DPF and reprogramming the car will increase the fuel economy.

mapping the car yes, in the way that car would use much more of its power/torque and wont shift as much from high gears back to low, specially on hilly roads. - thats for performance/economy map

As for removing the DPF I do not believe that the fuel economy increase would be significant enough to justify it? - could be wrong on this one, maybe Antti could gave us some details/numbers
