Hi,

I have through the last year worked with my e61. It has some problems with a jumpy ride.

Nearly everything are changed now beside the final drive and the Pneumatic springs. I don't have any problems with the self levelling or compressor but can a Pneumatic spring fail otherwise? Can it get soft or any other defect?

I know they are fairly easy to change but I need more info! Does any have some experience?

I don't think there is any sign of wear besides actual failing, i.e. losing air pressure through the spring. Also, I haven't heard of an E61 yet, whose air springs have failed. It seems they are very robust.

If you have jumpy ride, you might try installing the standard soft air springs from the stock suspension. I am planning that for my car next spring.

I did hear of blown airbag, but that was complete failure. if it would be leaking slowly at the morning your car would sit on her ass. how about wheels? - I recently read someone had similar issue, changed everything only to find out his wheels was not 100% true.
