Ok guys 2 questions....am I blind or is there no door lock switch to lock and unlock the car doors? I have it set in the I drive to lock after I put it in drive....a bit irritating when I drop of my wife and or kids that the door does not unlock when the motor is running.....the same goes for the boot, why does it not unlock with the motor running...and if it is locked with the motor running what switch do I push to unlock it....Thanks for the help...

In the center console between the center vents to unlock your doors.

Trunk release is down near the floor close to your pedals.

Also,

you can deactivate the automatic door lock-option when driving away (>20 km/h) so that it doesn't lock the doors at all.

Or just pull the door handle twice. Once unlocks, second opens door.

ah yes german logic...the door lock switch by the climate controls
anyone know why the hatch does not open if you have been driving and then stop with the motor running...the 2 pull trick on the latch does not work

The hatch does not open when the engine is running. .... I certainly hope thats not true. I would think the iDrive would have some kind of option of defeating that. Mercedes has the option of releasing the trunk (and the fuel tank) from the outside of the vehicle, even if the motor is running, but the car is in park.

I have checked, but have not found anything in the I-drive...still have not cracked the hatch unlock trick....it remains a mystery....
