Car feels shuddering or slipping gears after a while of driving
Hello all,
While doing the TC output flange seal replacement, I did the solenoids and seals of the mechatronics as well at the same time which I have been meaning to do for a long time. DId a fresh fluid change as well.
Here are my observations that I came accross
1) The TC oil that I drained is very low compared to how much I put in after draining, its actually surprising to see that it was working with so much less oil.
2) Drained AT fluid for a whole day and then replaced solenoids, seals from CTSC and reinstalled. The drained fluid is very brown (I replaced this fluid and pan back in 2017)
3) Cleaned the pan magnets and reused the pan and refilled the AT following proper procedure, checked at 40deg to overflow and tightened the plug to specifed torque.
4) Did adaptions reset and did clean EM for Transmission unit
At first, on cold start, it all seems to be fine, but after driving for a while, I feel like the car shudders or feel like slipping gears, very unsettling. It was there before when going slight uphill or under load, but I usually mitigate it by dropping the gear. Its been about 90 miles since I did the reset and havent seen any codes for the transmission yet.
One question,w hen refilling AT fluid, do we have to see for fluid pouring out at 40C or just a thin stream, like when you stop filling the fluid when you see a thin stream coming out>?
Any suggestions

Yeh, I went through a 5lt jug and ~1.5x 1lt cans. When I closed the fill port, the fluid is MORE than thin stream for sure.

Ok fluid is not an issue. When you do a transmission calibration it takes 150 miles for it to smooth out. You're supposed to drive like a grandma. There are certain drive calibration steps you're supposed to take but I've never done it before. I would say if it is slipping then it may have been too late for a service as the solenoids and sealing sleeves do not address slippage issues.

I usually drive it at the speed limit mostly in cruise contorl on freeway and light foot within the city. Will wait for 100 more miles and then read the codes if any. Will also hook up INPA while driving and see at what temps it is behaving that way. Other than that, have no ideas but replacing the transmission witha "good" used one.

Trying to udnerstand why this is happening only after a while (mostly after the oil is at its operating temperatures)
Here are the sequence of events that I remember
When I bought the car in 2016, I observed the car shuddering/slipping when going uphills
I replaced the pan and did fluid service at that time around 9/2017
Since then, the problem got worse to the point that I feel it doing even on normal roads (not only uphills) if I drive it normally and most prominent after dirivng a while. Not noticeable when cold
I usually mitigate it by putting it in sport mode or manually dropping the gear (this keeps the rpms high and I dont feel slipping) or by giving it more gas
At this point, I just want to get rid of this issue and have a worry free transmission shift. But still have no clue what the root cause is for this.

The transfer case should only have about 600ml of fluid (just over half that "quart bottle"). Did a lot less than that actually come out?

I dont think 600ml came out, it was leaking though for a while and I changed the seals. Filled it up until it seeped out of the fill hole.
