Brakes for 2008 E61
So, I'm about ready for new brakes. This is what I'm considering:
R1 Concepts Online Shopping - Shop for ,CPDS,2008,BMW,535xi.
Thoughts?

Don't know about them, but i got stoptech drilled rotors and their 100 series OEM type pads and am pretty happy with that setup. I didn't want to give up any of the initial bite of the brake pads from OEM, and their pads are close, but not as strong initial bite. But less dust for sure.

When I purchased my 2010 535xiT 2 years ago, it came with brand new aftermarket pads and rotors from the dealer that sold me the car. The pads were terrible - they would always squeak under light braking and anytime the windows were open in the summertime it would drive me crazy. I ended up keeping the aftermarket rotors - but had my dealer put on stock BMW pads. Now - silence when braking, and great braking performance. Something to consider when you purchase the pads.

Don't know why but I have still not been able to locate an actual post showing M5 brakes "bolt on no problem"
However, I need to chat with maybe the M5 group to see if they are able to use an 18" wheel, like for winter tires, seeing as I want to retain use of 18".

Do you know which exact Stoptech you got? I ask because even though Turner seems to have a very good "shop by car" interface, they don't seem to have an appropriate Stoptech kit or know if they fit 18" factory wheels.
Do you have any 18" that fit?
When you say stoptech, is it just the rotors or also their caliper?

I didn't go for a BBK... Just was replacing my stock rotors and pads, so I went with the drilled rotors instead to look cool, and got Centric 100 series pads (that are supposed to be close to stock initial bite, but less dust).
I thought I recall reading the person who did M5 brakes, had to put on M5 hubs, and it was a real PITA for him. Just search for the word "hub" in each thread.
This guy tried: https://5series.net/forums/e61-touri...-wagon-141137/
And him too: https://5series.net/forums/e61-touri...ve-all-135223/

thanks. Yes, after my post I looked up what TireRack has for brakes and they showed exactly what you're talking about in various options.
Turner has a few options too, oem, "genuine" and also their branded something or other that sure look like the stoptech without "stoptech" written on them.
At some point I actually do want to go big brake so maybe just cheap and decent for now.
