After months of looking, I finally bought a 2008 E61 LCI (74k miles) with the Sport, Premium, and Cold Weather packages. It was a one owner car, serviced at the same dealership, with full service records. The HPFP has been replaced, as well as the coolant pump, VANOS solenoid, and injectors/plugs. The car has been great so far, and I am bringing it to the dealership next weekend to get inspected. The original owner bought the extended 100k Platinum BMW warranty, and the extended 100k Maintenance program upgrade. From what I understand, the factory 100k mile warranty is non-transferable (as I bought it through a dealer), while the factory maintenance is.

Has anyone had luck transferring the factory warranty after buying through a dealer? I believe the extended maintenance will cover the state inspection. Can I expect them to do anything else while the car is there? No other service is due according to the CIC.

One minor issue I have noticed is a rattle from the rear of the car while driving on rough roads. I believe it is the window in the rear hatch, but haven't been able to confirm this. Is there anyway to adjust the latching mechanism to make it close tighter?

Not sure about Page 6, but on Page 10, section 7 says:

TRANSFER OF YOUR CONTRACT

a. This Contract is transferable to the next subsequent private purchaser
of your Vehicle only while your Contract is in force, and if certain
conditions are met. You may not transfer this Contract if the Vehicle is
sold or traded (retail or wholesale) to an automobile dealer or automotive
wholesaler.

Thank you for posting the scan of the contract. That is what I thought. I may give the issuing dealership a call and see if I have any other options. I was just wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation and was able to get the warranty transferred.

Does anyone know if the latch for the rear hatch glass is adjustable? A search mostly returns problems with the microswitch that opens the window.

The main hatch door I believe is adjustable. Not sure about the glass one. Someone posted about it a while back, and I think it had to do with the metal loop on the car that the lock mechanism engages on.

The rattle appears to be a loose piece in the rear hatch trim, so I didn't get an answer about the glass adjustment.
