Hey! So recently i bought a 2010 E61 530XD, and i didnt realise until after the purchase that the stereo does not work. It is optioned with the S677 Hifi Professional/Logic7. So the problem is that the idrive/stereo is stuck in mute, i cannot unmute it, and i cannot change to AM or AUX, it is stuck in FM. In the video i uploaded you can see that i try to change to AM or AUX, but when i press either of them the "cursor" just starts bouncing around as seen in the video, all i do is press the button down to change to FM/AUX, the rest the idrive does by itself. I have also tried rebooting the idrive via holding mute + cd/dvd eject button down but that doesnt work either, which is very weird. I have tried binding the button on the steering wheel to mute/unmute, and that doenst work either. I have checked the amp, theres no water or leaks in the trunk, the yellow light on the amp signaling it works is on, and i strongly believe it is not the amp that is the problem. Ive only found 1 thread with the exact same phenomenon, he mentioned he was going to reprogram his idrive as he was suggested that, but he never came back with an answer regarding if it did work or not.

As of now i have booked with a BMW mechanic to reprogram my idrive on the 26th, but if anyone has had this exact thing happen to them i'd love to know what the fix was, so i can be a little more certain. Also i thought i could add, the PDC button is constantly blinking, and PDC does not work, i also read somewhere that this may be because the idrive needs to be reprogrammed. Thats about as much as i know right now, any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Do you get any sound at all? Warning beeps, etc? I had a logic7 amp fail with no apparent damage. When it failed, there was no sound from any system, no beeps, etc.
