Automatic transmission - which gear I drive at present?

My Ride: E61, 530D, 2005
Guys,
I've done a search and didn't find anything. Does anyone know how check which gear ("currently") the car uses in D mode.
Is there a way to see it?

Is not possible to now(see) that.Just feeling.........
But if you have the 6speed auto gearbox go to self gear change put the gearknob m/s section at left and push front for down gear or back for up gear you see at the cluster M1,M2 etc.
At the way you drive with D and you won more power just go to M/S section is for sport drive very good option.
